Getting Ready to Return...
Coming Back to the salon after quarantine..
Hi Everybody! I miss you all and I’m looking forward to seeing you back at Studio Three. I wanted to let you know what changes I’m making to accommodate our new
reality in light of COVID19. I have always maintained a high level of cleanliness and sanitation standards as outlined by the industry guidelines however, in light of the pandemic, I am sure we as an industry will be changing those guidelines to tighten up any potential for spread of this virus.
Here is a list of what I am doing right now to ensure that when it's time to come back, you all feel safe:
- I am taking this time to deep clean the entire salon using a broad spectrum disinfectant and sanitizer (virucide).
- I'm setting up systems to have in place for sanitizing all implements and areas you as a client will come in contact with while visiting between each client.
- I've ordered more sets of everything that touches you while you are in the salon (combs, brushes, clips etc.) so I can rotate them through a sanitizer after each client. Every client will have a fresh set of implements that has been freshly sanitized.
- After every visit (between each client) I will be sanitizing all common areas that are touched frequently such as door handles, bathroom, coat racks etc. I will also have gloves available for anyone who wants them and I will be wearing a mask while working on you.
As our world evolves I am sure I will get word from local and state authorities on new standards of practice and I will follow all guidelines, as I have always done, to ensure my guests are receiving the highest level of service in a safe and sanitary environment.
I also wanted to let you know that when we do get the greenlight to start doing hair again, I will be working the first few Saturdays to allow everybody on the waiting list to get in as quickly as possible and to thank you all for being so patient. Saturdays cannot be booked online, you will need to text me directly - although if you are already on the waiting list, I will contact you anyway and I will mention it.

Returning to Work in 2018
Good news: I will re-open the salon in a limited way January 2018!
I will be open two days a week (Wednesday and Thursday) from noon until 9pm.
2017 has been a long and difficult year for me but I am looking forward to turning the page and scaling down for what will hopefully be a more productive year. The online schedule is already open, you can access it by using the "book now" button in the upper left corner of this page.
As we roll into fall now, happy holidays and I look forward to seeing you in 2018!
Cheers :D

New Schedule for 2016
Dear Clients,
I've reviewed my schedule and I think I've come up with something that will work for everyone. Starting immediately, I will be working Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as well as select Saturday and Sundays!
All existing appointments outside those times and hours still stand of course. As always, if you have trouble booking thru schedulicity feel free to message me (email or txt only, no social media please.)
I will be going on vacation in March (3/13-3/19), June (6/1-6/16) and July (7/1-7/9) and although I have added extra weekends before and after those dates it may be tough to get in. My first recommendation is to schedule at least a month in advance (usually only need to schedule about 2 weeks in advance). My second recommendation is to book with my friend Tava at Red Chair Salon. She uses Keune color and she's lovely and wonderful. http://redchairrocks.com/the-team/tava/
I hope this news finds you and your family off to a happy and healthy start to 2016!

Returning from Absence due to Illness.
Dear Clients,
During the past weeks I had to, with the help of my husband;
cancel your appointments with little or no explanation. Not many of you know
that I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 1. It is a fairly serious mental
illness. If you are interested here is an article about Bipolar 1 disorder from
Harvard Medical School: (http://www.health.harvard.edu/mental-health/bipolar-disorder)
I don’t remember many interactions during the period I was
away mostly due to the mania and also the medications to treat it. I know there
was some phone contact with some of you and I did not communicate very much
because of the state I was in. I basically tried to defer most interactions
having to do with the business to Ryan and he did his best but he was pretty
stressed out just trying to take care of me.
I hope all of you were able to either go see one of the
stylists I recommended or were able to wait and it wasn’t a major
inconvenience. For us here at the
Caldeiro house, we took it slowly day by and day and considered it a victory
that this time I did not need to be hospitalized. Ryan was able to take time
off and supervise me through the worst of it. Some of my symptoms, if you are
interested, are explained here: (http://psychcentral.com/lib/bipolar-disorder-with-psychotic-features/)
I have taken all my medication daily, as prescribed, since I
was diagnosed in 2010. I think of myself as normal. I believe the people who suffer with bipolar
disorder often do so in silence (as I have typically done) rather than face the
uncomfortable conversation about something that is, for me, just a small part
of who I am. I think most of us know someone with
mental illness without knowing they know them. Perhaps in this instance I am
that person you didn’t know you know. There is a cultural stigma and a lot of
misconception around mental illness and bipolar disorder in general. Usually, I
prefer to let comments go rather than discuss my own experiences. I hope this
episode does not change your opinions about me.
I’ve decided effective immediately; I will go back to work
doing hair 2 days a week until I am back up to 100%. This will allow me to schedule in the people I
cancelled on in the off days for now to get caught up. Instead of a set
schedule I will have a floating schedule. At least one weekend a month I plan
to work both Saturday and Sunday.
Instead of several short days I will just work a few longer days. Eventually
I will move up to three days a week and two weekends a month. Going on to
schedulicity as usual to book will tell you what is available for any given
week. And yes, please email or txt if you really need to get in and there
doesn’t seem to be a space. It will be much easier to accommodate now.
All in all, I have high hopes that things at Studio Three
will spring back to life and we will get back to gorgeous hair as usual. Thank
you for your understanding and your friendship over the years. I hope to see
you all soon!
Cheers!

Another Leave of Absence
Many of you know (my dear and cherished clients) I have been away from home for medical reasons for several weeks and am just getting back. With all that has gone on, I've been advised that I need to scale back on my work load and take more time for personal care. For the sake of my health, I am going to follow professional advice and take a step back from work for a while. I just wanted to check in with you all (clients) and let you know where I stand.
I am not going to be making any of my appointments scheduled thru the beginning of September. If you are a long time client, you should have my direct email address and please do feel free to contact me because I may be able to work something out.
I will be contacting E*Clips today or tomorrow about rescheduling/distributing appointments to other stylists at the salon etc.
Well wishes are always welcome and appreciated and I will be checking my personal email frequently now that I am home. For others - I can receive emails on my phone if you send it to lcaldeiro@gmail.com. Please note, no appointments will be scheduled thru that email address.
Thank you so much for understanding.

Update.
First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for being such wonderful clients over the years. I also want to apologize for any inconvenience with scheduling the coming months may pose.
My family situation is such that I will need to be in California most of my free time. I have my schedule open for on-line booking but have had some calls because the next open appointments may be a few weeks out. I will not be able to change this at this time but if you are in dire hair straights, please feel free to book with Josephine Morales, Lamberto Laggio and Jim Jennings. Jim uses Keune color and has access to all my formulas. Please call the salon at (206) 322-9280 if you need to get in more quickly than my current availability will allow. My colleagues are all wonderful and talented stylists who I feel lucky to have the privilege to work with.
Also, I want to say to all of you that I have appreciated your loyalty and regard for me beyond measure, but none of you should have any reservation whatsoever should you feel the need to go see someone else! Whether you go to someone at e*clips or elsewhere I will absolutely not be upset or offended and I hope you do not feel awkward about it. Should you wish to come back to me at a later date when my schedule is open again - please don't hesitate! I will never make you feel guilty for needing your hair done when I was/am unavailable. (I only mention this because I have had a few apologetic emails and I don't want anyone to feel the need to apologize!!) As always, I just want you to love your hair!
In addition, I will not be taking any new clients over the phone until my personal situation resolves. However, on-line booking is still available for first time clients.
Thanks to all for your kind wishes and support.
I appreciate you and all you do and have done for me.
Highest regards and in humble respect,
Lynn Caldeiro

Holiday Crunch..
Hello Everyone!
I hope the holiday season is merry and bright for you all.
I've been receiving many requests to fit people in in the last few days and I am so sorry not to be able to take everyone.. I do have a cancellation list and if something comes up for the amount of time for what you need we will call you, I promise! Unfortunately, I usually only get a day's notice on cancellations so it could be very spur of the moment.
As you may remember, I am recovering from a repetative stress injury and I would be doing everyone a disservice if I re-injured myself by fitting too many people in (which I have been known to do in the past).. Please know that I really do want you to love your hair and I'm sorry for the tight schedule..
Try using the online scheduling progam accessible thru my website HERE to see a real-time look at what is open.
Peace and Love,
Lynn

Christmas is Coming...!
Ok, I know this is a bit early - but you have to do these things while you are thinking of them right? I need to let everyone know that towards the end of December I have a trip I am going on so toward the end of the year there will not be that much time available. If you know your schedules and you think you will want your hair done for the holidays: book it now if you can! (go ahead and use the online scheduling program).. If it is before November 15 and you are trying to make an appointment and can't get in - shoot me an email and we will work it out. Unfortunately, if it is *after* November 15 there may not be a way to work you in.
I just want to let everyone know so that there is ample opportunity for you guys to have your hair looking good for the holidays!
I also want to update everyone on my status with the "Degenerative Disk Disease" (god that sounds awful!) I am really trying hard to follow a strict 6 hour rule. The good news is that 6 seems to be the magic number and I can pretty much work 6 hours and still see improvement (or at least not get worse) in my recovery. Right now the worst of it is only some lingering numbness in my left index finger. I have a referral for physical therapy and expect more good news to follow after starting that.
So there you have it!
Remember to check your schedules and book now if you can for the holidays - and please know: I really want you guys to be happy with your hair and that's why I am nagging about this.. I don't want anyone unhappy because they can't get in at the last minute!
NOTE: I have instituted an ongoing "Cancelation List." People do cancel and they are generally good about giving at least a days notice so sometimes I can still get you in last-minute, just fyi..

Recovering
Well, it's time to report that I have a problem and ignoring it has not made it go away (as I had hoped it would). For a few months I have been having neck and shoulder pain. I have been trying to use better posture etc.
Then I started to have some pain in my left arm/hand. I tried switching my blowdry hand and paying attention to my wrist.
Then my fingers started going a bit numb. I went to a massage therapist, then I went back to yoga and a massage therapist.
Now my fingers (thumb, index and middle) are numb and tingly, my arm above and below the elbow are in pain and my neck is in pain. I went to the doctor. They took x-rays and they think it has something to do with my neck. I have a perscription for a muscle relaxer and alieve (I have been taking ibuprophen the whole time and it's not helping anymore).
So, to make a long story short (too late) - I will not be working extra hours at all until this clears up. I am still working what is already scheduled, but I will be focusing on recovering from what ever this is until I am back to 100%. I will keep you abreast of my progress. I am off back to the couch, an ice pack and some West Wing!
The best way to figure out when you can get in is to use the online scheduling (see website) because I have opened my hours up after what I am expecting will be my recovery (a few weeks) and closed them off to any new appointments until then. Like I said, if you already have a scheduled appointment I will see you then!

Gone for a while..
Hi All! Sorry it's been a while since I last posted, it's not for lack of stuff going on that's for sure! Anyway, I'll make this short and sweet..
I have to leave for a week starting tomorrow. For those familiar with My Other Blog you know that I am going to California to help with a family situation. When I get back I am changing my hours around, I am actually working the same amount of hours, but working fewer days in a row.. I need to have some days off to allow me to leave sometimes w/out interrupting my client schedule the way this trip is.. Anyway, when I come back my schedule will be as follows:
Wednesdays Noon to 9pm
Thursdays Noon to 9pm
Fridays 9am to 5pm
Saturdays 8am to 2pm
As always, I will accomodate hair emergencies if at all possible (email me directly please or leave a message with the receptionist to have me call you. The receptionist has no control over my hours so please don't get upset, I WILL contact you if you leave a message for me to do so..) but it is more important than ever to pre-book your next appointment, it's getting harder and harder to get people in within two weeks and I don't want to lose anyone in the shuffle so please please please pre-book! Also, if you have an appointment you won't be able to keep, please call as soon as you can to let me know so we can fit someone else in that time slot.
Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall!
-Lynn

Current Hours...
Here is my current schedule that seems to accomodate most people most of the time:
Tues/Wed/Thu/Fri: 3pm to 9pm
Sat/Mon: 9am to 3pm
Sunday: Closed
Occasionally I will work longer Mondays or Saturdays as needed. I may take some time off in the next few months to recharge.
At some point I am going to take an extra day off during the week (a floating day) for inventory and book keeping and other boring stuff...
Speaking of boring, this is a rather dull post, sorry! But I've got some good before and after photos of a client from Saturday - as soon as she sends me an email I will ask permission to post them so stay tuned!
